Hockey coach vows to clear name after ban for yelling
A CHILDREN'S hockey coach says he is being forced out of the sport he loves after parents complained he shouted too much.
England Hockey banned Duncan Parnis, who was previously honoured as a coach of the year, for five years.
The governing body described it as an exclusion for activities involving persons under the age of 18.
A total of 22 complainants accused him of "belittling" children's performances, shouting at them from the sideline, being derogatory to players, giving negative feedback, and leaving players crying in the dugout.
England Hockey's Child Protection and Welfare Disciplinary panel deemed him a "potential risk of harm to the safety and or welfare of a young person".
