Adrian Daulby remembered for courage in synagogue attack ordeal

ONE of the men killed in the Manchester synagogue attack turned from quiet man to hero to protect others, his funeral heard.

Adrian Daulby, 53, leapt from the seat used by his family for generations to block the doors as Jihad al-Shamie tried to get in to attack.

Mr Daulby died alongside Melvin Cravitz, 66, on Yom Kippur, the most holy day in the Jewish calendar, at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester.

Friends and family gathered at Agecroft Jewish Cemetery in Salford to pay respects yesterday.

Rabbi Daniel Walker, who also helped barricade the doors at the synagogue last Thursday, said Mr Daulby was in the place where his late father and grandfather used to sit.
