PROMISED LANDO IS IN SIGHT
Daily Mirror UK
|October 28, 2025
IF timing is everything in sport, then Lando Norris is entering the 2025 season home straight in perfect position.
For four races in succession, McLaren's Brit racer had been forced to choke on Max Verstappen's dust, watching the four-time world champion - the most intimidating man on the grid - take three victories and a second while potentially creating a mind game in Norris' head.
In Italy, Azerbaijan and the USA, Norris had seen the Dutchman take the chequered flag, recovering from a hopeless mid-season position to raise the spectre of a fifth crown, hunting down the McLarens of Norris and Oscar Piastri, who appeared to be in a two-horse race for glory.
But in Mexico City on Sunday, Norris not only put Verstappen back in his place, he left his teammate trailing on the track, and now also by a point in the title race.
