Controversial rebel tour is here to stay

SPEAKING about golf’s never-ending peace talks during the presidential election campaign, Donald Trump said: “It would take me 15 minutes to get that deal done.”

At a White House meeting last week, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan asked the US President, the owner of Turnberry, to help close an agreement between the PGA and DP World Tours and the Saudi Public Investment Fund. And LIV Golf will be part of this brave new world.

The brash, Saudi-backed breakaway league started its fourth season in Riyadh with new TV deals in the USA (Fox) and UK (ITV), a new chief executive to replace Greg Norman (Scott O’Neil), and new sponsorship deals for several teams.
