Court told Arena plotter used five blades in attack

MANCHESTER Arena bomb plotter Hashem Abedi used five makeshift knives to carry out a terror attack on prison officers, prosecutors allege.

He yelled "Allahu akbar", Arabic for "God is greatest", during the assault, the court was told.

Abedi, 28, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, one of assault causing actual bodily harm, and one of possessing a knife in relation to the incident on April 12 at maximum security Frankland prison in Co Durham.
