CAMPAIGNERS want a trial into puberty blockers for children halted, arguing it is unlawful and could harm young people.

Tests could see around 226 young people recruited after it was granted ethical and regulatory approval last month.

The trial is to be carried out following a recommendation by the Cass Review into children’s gender care, which concluded that the quality of current research was “poor”.
