It's another slap from price cap

Millions of households will be hit with yet another rise in energy bills, after Ofgem announced its price cap is going up by 2% from October. For a typical household, bills will rise by about £35 annually. The hike is bigger than expected, as most analysts had predicted a 1% increase ahead of winter. You say...

SO now we are being slammed with an energy price rise, which is coming into effect from October 1.

More people already struggling to pay bills and living on credit will be reduced to impoverishment. More will be forced to make sacrifices, too afraid to heat their homes in the cold months ahead.

There seems to be no end to the suffering some have to endure.

Jenny Pain, Chatham, Kent

The headlines about gas and electricity bills going up worry me.

I accept everyones homes and usage are different and many heating systems will be less efficient than ours - although ours is a 50-year-old property with big windows. However, as pensioners of 82 and 91, we spend a lot of time at home, and we certainly don't skimp on heating or anything else.
