I'm ashamed of the amount I vape but I'll panic without it

I'm a 25-year-old woman and I'm addicted to vaping. I'm vaping more than I'm breathing at this point! I know I have to quit, but it’s so hard.

The habit started during the lockdowns and now I can't stop it, and it's got so much worse. The weird thing is, I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, even when all my friends were trying out smoking. My nicotine habit started with vapes.

Part of the problem is most of my mates vape socially when were out, so it’s hard to resist when I'm around them.

But while it’s a social thing for them, I do it every spare minute and keep my vape in my pocket and even tucked into my bra so it’s always at hand and I don't lose it. I totally panic if it goes missing.

It drives my boyfriend insane, as he doesn't vape and I feel ashamed vaping in front of him.
