Volod shows Trump what a leader really is | Biggest drone attack yet.. Keir vow on support
AFTER being falsely branded a dictator by Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday proved he is anything but by prioritising the needs of his war-ravaged country above his own presidency.
The Ukraine leader vowed to step down in exchange for joining Nato in a bid to secure a lasting peace as the bombs continued to rain down in one of Russia's biggest drone attacks yet on its besieged neighbour.
His actions contrast sharply to those of the US President's, who has spent the past week engaged in childish insults and demanding rare minerals in exchange for help given to combat a real dictator in Vladimir Putin.
As the war today enters its third year, Mr Trump was accused of behaving like a mafia boss carrying out an extortion racket.
After the Republican's recent rants and his opening of peace talks with Russia without Ukraine being present, Keir Starmer vowed to push home the importance of putting on a united front against Russia when he meets him in Washington, DC this week.
And Mr Zelensky put Mr Trump to shame with his declaration about sacrificing his presidency. He said in Kyiv: "If to achieve peace, you really need me to give up my post, I'm ready. I can trade it for Nato." The former comedian, who was elected in 2019 with a landslide victory, insisted it is not his "dream" to remain president for decades.Denne historien er fra February 24, 2025-utgaven av Daily Mirror UK.
