JD Vance last night faced a barrage of fury after dismissing the bravery of British troops who have fought and died alongside the American military in several wars.

HOW DARE YOU

The US Vice President's sneering comments came after the UK and France pledged personnel to a peacekeeping proposal in Ukraine.

And he angered grieving relatives of fallen heroes even further with a pathetic attempt at a climb-down over his crass insults.

But the damage was already done after he said the best way to stop Vladimir Putin's illegal war in Ukraine was for America to have an "economic upside" in the country's future.

He added: "That is a better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn't fought a war in 30 or 40 years." Mr Vance has clearly forgotten that 636 British military personnel have died in US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as Europe prepares to commemorate VE Day this year.

Sarah Adams, whose son Private James Prosser, of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh, was killed in Afghanistan in 2009, said: "How dare a little man called JD Vance insult the wonderful British soldiers who sacrificed everything for their country? His disgusting comments have made my blood boil.

BULLIES

"James, like many others in recent years, gave everything for his country.

"I watched in horror when this pair of bullies, Vance and Donald Trump, tried to humiliate Zelensky. Vance has surpassed even that with these shocking and outrageous comments.
