ISRAEL reportedly killed at least 61 Palestinians in Gaza yesterday as the deadline for Hamas to accept a US ceasefire ultimatum draws near.

The deaths include people killed in strikes on a school where war refugees were taking shelter.

Al-Falah school in Gaza City’s eastern Zeitoun neighbourhood was hit by missiles twice, minutes apart, according to hospital officials. First responders were among the casualties.

Five Palestinians were later killed when a strike hit people gathered around a drinking water tank in the west of the city.

A hospital said it received the body of a man killed in a strike on an apartment in Gaza City.
