Tissues at the ready for birth, death & marriage in Midwife season finale

CALL the Midwife fans should brace themselves for an emotional time at the end of the series next month as the final episode contains a birth, a wedding and a funeral.

And with viewers already aware that much-loved character Sister Monica Joan is suffering from kidney failure, everything points towards the 99-year-old nun making her final journey from Nonnatus House in the last episode of series 15 on March 8.

Actress Judy Parfitt, 90, has been in the BBC's Sunday night drama since it began in 2012 and is set to bow out just as it takes a break for a couple of years.
