Van Gerwen facing play-off KO

CLOG Almighty Michael van Gerwen is on the brink of Premier League elimination tonight, with former world No.1 Colin Lloyd warning: "His race is run.

To qualify for next week's play-off finals at London's 02 arena, Van Gerwen must win the final night of league competition in Sheffield to scramble into the top four - but he hasn't won any of the previous 15 nights in the 2025 tournament.

If his last stand at the Utilita Arena culminates in disappointment, MVG will miss the play-offs for only the second time since his debut season in 2013. Seven-times Premier League champion Van Gerwen's match against Nathan Aspinall (below) is effectively a shoot-out for survival, with defeat consigning the Dutchman to the also-rans and victory sealing the Asp’s passage to the 02.
