Ordeal of wrongly arrested mum

- BY TOM PETTIFOR Crime Editor

'DISPROPORTIONATE AND UNNECESSARY'

A MUM wrongly arrested for fare evasion by a PC who bruised her arm sobbed yesterday as she said she'd once wanted to join the police.

Jocelyn Agyemang was filmed asking PC Perry Lathwood to let go of her arm 36 times as he handcuffed her in front of her distressed young son.

Lathwood called her a “daft cow" during the July 2023 arrest in Croydon, South London.

She said she saw “contempt in his eyes” and was “deeply humiliated”.

A video of the incident was posted on social media.
