French & Saunders comedy legend on losing her mobility

VICAR Of Dibley star Dawn French says her biggest ageing-related fear is losing her mobility.

The actress and writer, 68, has suffered with arthritis for 12 years and at one stage needed knee surgery as she was in so much pain.

She said: "I think immobility is what worries me the most.

"I have got arthritis and I have had arthritis in my left knee really badly and then eventually got half a knee.... well, I've got half a new knee."
