Brit 'in cell hell after passport is swiped'

A BRIT says he was detained in Bulgaria for two weeks after reporting his passport stolen.

Pilot Robert Weaver, 38, says he was in ski resort Bansko, southwestern Bulgaria, for a three-day trip to look at a property.

Just before checking out of his B&B, he realised his passport had been stolen.

But when he went to a police station to report the theft, Robert says he was treated like a suspect.

He says they were not satisfied as to his identity despite showing them online documents.
