Georgia retains 1500m crown... but super Scot Muir denied by Nuttall

HEADLINE act Georgia Hunter Bell proved too hot for the chasing pack as she retained her British indoor 1500m title in style.

But top Scot Laura Muir was denied a tenth national indoor gold by a sublime kick from Hannah Nuttall.

Nuttall, the 5000m outdoor champion, found a turbo boost coming off the final bend to overtake Muir in lane two and finish in 8:49.49, just over half a second clear in Birmingham.

"I did think I could potentially come out with the win if I had my best possible race, but to actually execute it and do it is another thing," Nuttall (crossing the line, below) said.
