Durde has blazed a trail from north London to Seattle and will be the first Brit coach in America’s showpiece event

FROM KEITH WEBSTER in San Francisco ADEN DURDE'S journey began in Finsbury Park, throwing a ball around as a youngster who enjoyed watching American football on Channel 4.

That journey can come to a glorious climax by San Francisco Bay on Sunday night when he becomes the first Brit to coach in a Super Bowl.

Durde’s playing days took in the fields of the British amateur leagues, NFL Europe and eventually training camps and practice squads in the NFL.

But it is in the coaching ranks where he has flourished, climbing the ladder over the past decade to the heady position of defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, and now a person of interest for Atlanta and Cleveland as they look to appoint new head coaches.
