Worker, 60, crushed as pop-up toilet fell on to him in 'catastrophic failure'

THE widow of a worker crushed to death beneath a falling popup toilet has launched a legal fight for more than £200,000 in compensation.

Kevin Holding, 60, had been in the inspection chamber below the telescopic urinal in the West End when it “suddenly and without warning dropped and fell on to him” on January 27, 2023.

The toilet, made by Dutch firm Urilift, is designed to be lowered below ground during the day then raised up for use by revellers at night using hydraulic power.
