100-yr-old POW guard probed for war crimes

GERMANY has launched a war crimes probe into a 100-year-old ex-guard at a Nazi prisoner of war camp.

This is the last remaining major Nazi case still before a German public prosecutor.

The man is under investigation for alleged involvement in murders committed between December 6 1943 and September 22 1944 at the Hemer POW camp in North Rhine-Westphalia. This was during one of the camp's most lethal periods.
