|September 05, 2025
Over 7000 athletes from 17 universities are listed to contest the 25th edition of the Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) that was launched at the newly renovated indoor stadium at the University of Rajarata yesterday.
The event held every three years brings together athletes from across the country. The goal of SLUG is to promote sports and physical education among Sri Lankan universities. As the proud host of SLUG, considered to be the second biggest sports festival in the country, apart from the National Games, the Rajarata University has prepared all its infrastructure and facilities to provide a unique experience for students.
"Rajarata University is hosting the SLUG for the first time," said Rajarata University Acting Vice Chancellor Janaka Pushpakumara. "All universities including higher education institutes will participate this time".
