Algama storms ahead at Kandy junior golf

The second day of the Kandy Regional Junior Open Golf Championship 2025 at the Victoria Golf Resort produced _ thrilling battles across all divisions as young golfers displayed both skill and composure as the leaderboard began to take shape.
In the Boys’ Gold Division (15-18 years), Reshan Algama stormed ahead with rounds of 73 and 70 for a superb total of 143. Just one stroke behind was Jevahn Sathasivam who carded 71 and 73 for an aggregate of 144 keeping the contest finely balanced. Jevahn was leading on day one and both top class juniors go in to the third day with a mouthwatering final day’s clash in the Central Hills.
In the Girls’ gold division, Keya Abhayaratne with two rounds 88 and 85 was ahead while Sithara Lorance was placed second with two rounds of 92 and 85.
