Vishmi steals limelight with tournament-best 166 for CCC

NAVY SC, Air Force SC, and Chitaw Marians CC continued their domination of the SLC Major Clubs Women's Limited-Over Tournament, recording their fifth straight win in as many games, but the most noteworthy display of the day came from national top order bat Vishmi Gunaratne, who hit a magnificent 166 off 152 balls (23 fours, 2 sixes) for CCC, beating the previous highest individual score in the tournament — 140 by her Sri Lankan teammate Harshitha Samarawickrama for Navy SC against Badureliya SC.

CCC scored 217 and Vishmi contributed 76.5% of the runs scored by her team in their 44-run win against Colts at the Colts Grounds. The second highest score was 18. Colts managed 173, with Nethmi Upeksha making a top score of 41 and seamer Malshi Nirasha capturing 3/23.
In a low-scoring match at Surrey Village Grounds, Maggona, Chilaw Marians CC bowled out Ace Capital CC for a paltry 42 off 23.3 overs and knocked the runs off in 14.1 overs to win by seven wickets. 17-year-old left-arm wrist spinner Shashini Gimhani picked up three of the top four wickets for 19 runs for Chilaw Marians CC.
