Dhammika Fernando re-elected as FTZMA Chairman; lists key suggestions of private sector

FREE Trade Zone Manufacturers Association conducted its 44th Annual General Meeting at Barnes, Jetwing Colombo on 28th March with Tropical Findings Ltd. Director Dhammika Fernando re-elected as the Chairman and Filotex Lanka Ltd. Director M H Z.M. Marzook was elected as the new Secretary for the period 2025/2026.

ATG Ceylon Ltd. Managing Director Fazal Abdeen and Screenline Holdings Ltd. Director Samantha Bandaraage were elected as the Vice Chairmen Lalan Rubbers Ltd., CEO Manjula Mahaanarachchi was re-elected as the Honorary Treasurer.
Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath was the Chief Guest at the AGM while Japanese Embassy Economic Cooperation Head Kenji OHASHI and Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Sri Lanka Representative Hiroki Oi were the Guests of Honour.
FTZMA is the leading Association representing the foreign direct investments in Sri Lanka representing their presence to all three Free Trade Zones in Sri Lanka. The uniqueness of FTZMA is that it represents all articles including the apparel industry.
Having been re-elected as the Chairman Dhammika Fernando made his welcome speech for the post-business session. He stated that tonight, we gather not only as industry stakeholders and investors but also as visionaries, united by the common purpose of forging a modern export trade ecosystem in Sri Lanka — one defined by transparency, efficiency, and global interconnectivity.
