'You can't arrest your way out of small boats crisis'

Jenrick blasts Labour as average migrants per dinghy hits 65

PEOPLE smugglers are "emboldened" by Labour's small boats plan, Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick has warned.

As PM Sir Keir Starmer signed agreements in Hungary yesterday to help intercept criminal gangs smuggling migrants through the Balkans, Mr Jenrick insisted: "You can't arrest your way out of this.

"Labour have turned the small boats crisis into the big boats crisis."

On Tuesday, 263 people in just four boats crossed the Channel, reinforcing warnings that smugglers are using larger and more dangerous dinghies.
