'We're proud to create a legacy in Elle's memory'

A CHARITY ball to celebrate what would have been a cystic fibrosis sufferer's 18th birthday has raised more than £8,000 in her memory for sick children.

Brave Elle Morris - for years a key figure in the fight for lifesaving drugs on the NHS - died aged 11 in her mother's arms after a double lung transplant failed to save her.

But despite her illness, she charmed stars such as Simon Cowell, actor Chris Pratt and TV's Dermot O'Leary to raise awareness of the genetic condition.

Elle would have turned 18 on January 29 so, to celebrate her life, mum Becky Whitfield hosted 'Elle Wood' at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire to fundraise for the CFTrust and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
