UK's £225m package to fortify Kyiv

BRITAIN has pledged a £225million package of support for Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelensky said his forces were unable to drive Russian troops out of his country.
On a trip to Kyiv, Defence Secretary John Healey said that the UK would "step up" on international leadership on Ukraine.
The new package includes £186m for military equipment through the International Fund for Ukraine, of which £92m is for the navy and £68m for air defence.
The announcement comes after Mr Healey met with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and also pledged £39million for counter-drone systems and protective equipment.
