UK police arrest man after expat gran found stabbed to death

A MAN aged 74 has been arrested in the UK after a British grandmother was found knifed to death at her Italian home.
The British national was arrested on suspicion of murder by officers in Shepshed, Leicester, hours after the discovery of Michele Faiers, 66.
She was found stabbed to death in a pool of blood on the floor of a in bedroom at her home rural Italy on Wednesday.
The gran had reportedly been knifed several times. Police said she was covered by a sheet but there was no sign of a struggle.
Forensic scientists suspect she was killed in her sleep last weekend, days before her discovery.
Michele's partner, retired management consultant Michael Whitbread, allegedly left the house near Casoli in eastern Italy in their white Jeep.
