Two years for sea-switch ruse to give jobs illegally

A MAN has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for finding jobs for migrants without the right to work.

Benoy Thomas, 50, was convicted of 13 counts of assisting unlawful immigration by facilitating employment for people from India.

Using a loophole which allows seafarers to be within the UK to transfer from one boat to another, the Indian nationals arrived and then "disappeared", making their way to Bexhill, East Sussex, where Thomas arranged work for them.
