Twelve years in jail for teen who boasted of killing

A TEENAGE tearaway who bragged about knifing a schoolboy to death was told yesterday he must serve at least 12 years behind bars for murder
The judge appeared to be choked with emotion as he told Leighton Amies, 15, that he ended the life of a "beautiful, exceptional and gifted" boy when he plunged a kitchen knife into Tomasz Oleszak's chest.
Amies attacked Tomasz, 14, at a beauty spot last year. Passing a life sentence with a minimum 12-year term at Newcastle Crown Court, Mr Justice Martin Spencer said Amies "relished" carrying the murder knife.
Triumphantly
He said when Amies shouted at a group of youths, "I've wetted your boy", it was done "triumphantly".
