Leach's injury adds to woes for under-pressure England
ENGLAND hope Jack Leach can rally from a "pretty serious" knee injury after their senior spinner struggled to play his part on a dispriting second day.
The experienced left-armer was pencilled in to lead the attack on the turning pitches here.
But he could only manage a reduced role as India opened up a 175-run lead in the first Test.
Leach contributed just 16 wicket-less overs and none of his spells lasted longer than four, forcing part-timer Joe Root to take up the slack with rookies Tom Hartley and Rehan Ahmed.
