A BOY and girl with a "thirst" for murder are facing life behind bars for the brutal killing of teenager Brianna Ghey.

- Chris Riches

"To know how scared my usually fearless child must have been  will haunt me forever'

TikTok influencer Brianna, 16, was lured to a park by her friend, known as Girl X, and a youth identified as Boy Y. She was stabbed 28 times with a hunting knife in a "frenzied and ferocious" attack.

The 16-year-olds, who cannot be named because of their ages, spent weeks planning the murder and later blamed each other for Brianna's horrific stab wounds.

Her killers, who were 15 when they carried out the attack on February 11, showed no emotion in the dock yesterday as the jury returned their murder verdicts after just over four hours.

Choking back tears outside Manchester Crown Court after the guilty verdicts, Brianna's devastated parents expressed their deep desire to have been there that fateful day to protect their child.

Her mother Esther Ghey said: "Prior to the trial I had moments where I felt sorry for the defendants because they had ruined their own lives as well as ours.

"But now, knowing the true nature and seeing neither display an ounce of remorse for what they have done to Brianna, I have lost all sympathy that I may have previously had for them. And I am glad that they will spend many years in prison and away from society." Ms. Ghey, 37, described her daughter, who was transgender, as "funny, witty, and fearless".

She added: "Brianna was larger than life. We miss Brianna so much and our house feels empty without her laughter.

"To know how scared my usually fearless child must have been when she was alone in that park with someone that she called her friend will haunt me forever." father Peter Brianna's

Spooner said: "It is impossible to put into words how the murder of my child has affected me.
