A SHOPLIFTER caught by an actor who starred in The Bill faces being arrested again because he failed to show up at court yesterday for his sentencing.

- By Matt Clemenson

Mohammed Diallo was brought to justice thanks to help from actor Jeff Stewart, who played PC Reg Hollis in the TV drama.

Last month Stewart, 69, relived his acting cop days by jumping into action when thief Diallo cycled away from officers.

Stewart, who starred in more than 900 episodes from 1984 to 2008, helped the officers by rushing over and sitting on Diallo.

Video footage shows Scottish actor Jeff who was wearing sunglasses and shorts tell officers, “well, I was in The Bill for 24 years”.
