Thief is convicted of delivery van murder

A VAN thief who hit speeds of nearly 60mpbh as its driver clung to a door has been found guilty of murder.

“Career criminal” Mark Ross jumped into the Ford Transit as Amazon driver Claudiu-Carol Kondor delivered a parcel.

In a bid to stop his vehicle being stolen, Mr Kondor, 42, grabbed the open passenger door. Ross then swerved from side to side and deliberately crashed into two parked cars to “get rid” of the Romanian national, Leeds Crown Court was told.

Mr Kondor, of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, died at the scene from head and chest injuries.

Ross, 32, admitted manslaughter, but denied murdering Mr Kondor.
