THE Princess of Wales is spot-on with her outfit choice again as she wears polka dots for the first Garter Day of King Charles's reign

Kate, in an Alessandra Rich dress and Philip Treacy hat, grinned at her husband Prince William yesterday as senior royals in the procession waved to a cheering crowd of 2,900 assembled in the sunshine at Windsor Castle 

She was joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh, who wore an Emilia Wickstead dress and Jane Taylor hat, and the Duchess of Gloucester.

In dark blue velvet robes and black Tudor bonnets with plumes of white ostrich and heron feathers, the Knights of the Garter, Britain's oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry, marched down the castle hill to their annual service at St George's Chapel with the King and Queen at their rear.
