Teen victim of Met rapist tells of long fight to see him jailed

A WOMAN raped by a Metropolitan Police officer when she was a teenager has spoken of her long fight for justice after he was jailed yesterday.

Lauren Taylor was 16 when PC Adam Provan lied about his age and invited her to the cinema in 2010.

Provan, who was 31 but claimed he was 22, raped her in woods and a children's playground in a sickening attack.

With incredible courage Lauren, now 29, gave evidence against him three times to secure his conviction and has waived her right to anonymity to help others.

Provan committed a series of rapes spanning eight years, Wood Green Crown Court heard. His predatory behaviour dated back to the 1990s. Between 2003 and 2005, he repeatedly raped a female police officer and terrorised her to the point she feared for her life.
