GIOVANNI Pernice has dismissed claims about his teaching methods as "simply false" after it emerged that he will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year.

The Italian has been part of the BBC One celebrity dancing show since 2015 when he reached the final with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote.

But the 33-year-old was not included in the line-up of professional dancers announced by the BBC for the forthcoming series. It confirmed earlier reports that he would not be competing this year.
