PLAYFUL Hilda Jackson had one foot in the rave at her 105th birthday bash - bopping under disco lights to a rapper while daubed in UV face paint and wielding glowsticks.

Hilda and 70 guests at her care home also enjoyed an open bar, including drinks laid on by trendy German liquor firm Jagermeister, though snowballs were in high demand.

The tunes included Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 and a specially-written rap by Nottingham's own Bru-C.

Looking fresh-faced the morning after Tuesday's night of gin and tonic and dancing, Hilda said: “I love a party. I'm not one for all the big rocking and rolling stuff, I like a waltz and a foxtrot.

“But I like listening to any music with a good tune.

“I've enjoyed every minute of my life which I intend to keep on doing while I can. I never thought I'd get to this age but fortunately I'm here, which I'm grateful for.”
