ZVEREV HAILS CHAMP...BUT DOPE CASE LOOMS

- From Neil McLeman

Sinner can dominate just like Novak

JANNIK SINNER was hailed as "the best player in the world by far" - and compared to Novak Djokovic at his peak - after winning his first Australian Open title in ruthless style.

But the big worry for tennis is that the world No.1 could be banned for doping before the next Grand Slam at the French Open in May.

The Italian, 23, and Carlos Alcaraz won all four Grand Slams last season.

Sinner continued the new Big Two's domination Down Under - and showed the gap over the rest of the field - by outclassing world No.2 Alex Zverev 6-3 7-6 6-3 in an anti-climactic final on Australia Day.

He did not face a single break point.
