Sexual offences against women on trains soar

SHOCKING incidents of sexual harassment against women on trains have more than doubled over two years, figures reveal.
The number of offences against women and girls rose 50%, from 7,561 in 2021 to 11,357 in 2023, data from the British Transport Police Authority showed.
Sexual offences jumped 10% over the same period, while reports of sexual harassment more than doubled to 1,908.
A separate Transport Police survey last year found more than a third of women have been victims of sexual harassment or sexual offences while commuting by train or Tube.
