LIGHTNING STRIKE: Seville had Bolt dancing in the stands after he won 100m gold
USAIN BOLT danced in the stands of Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium as Jamaica finally reclaimed a global men’s 100m crown.
Since the fastest man in history called time on his own career, the Caribbean nation has been starved of men’s sprint success, but Oblique Seville changed all that.
The 24-year-old delivered on his unquestioned potential with a personal best 9.77secs to take World Championship glory ahead of compatriot Kishane Thompson, with American Olympic champion Noah Lyles third.
Seville has work to do to catch Bolt’s world record but he has restored Jamaica to the top of the sprinting tree. He said:
