Davina McCall recovering after emergency surgery to remove 'very rare' cyst

'SAY A PRAYER FOR ME' IN BRAIN TUMOUR FIGHT

DAVINA McCall was last night recovering from emergency surgery to remove a very rare brain tumour.

Before the operation, the TV favourite had asked fans to "say a prayer for me" after revealing she had a benign 14mm colloid cyst. Her partner Michael Douglas said that Davina, 57, "is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook!" The former Big Brother host had told her Instagram followers: "It needs to come out, because if it grows, it would be bad. So say a for me. I am in good spirits." prayer Hairdresser Michael added last night: "She's currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine she's utterly exhausted. Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here. It's powerful stuff, we are super grateful Michael xx." Davina earlier told her fans: "A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace.

"But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare, three in a million.

"And so I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons. I got lots of opinions, and I realised that I have to get it taken out." She had a craniotomy procedure which temporarily removes part of the skull.

Mum-of-three Davina added: "I'm going to be in hospital for about nine days, and then I'm going to be going home, but I'm going to be off my phone for a while. But I don't want you to worry about me. I'm doing that enough as it is.
