Experts warn of 'dire consequences' as breaks are cut

OUTDOOR playtime at school is being squeezed out of children's lives and must be restored, a campaign has warned.

Children are spending less time playing outside due to “distractions and demands”, an inquiry found.

School break times have also been shortened over the past three decades and have sometimes even been “withheld”.

It comes as internet screen time is now dominating children's home lives, said the report by the Raising the Nation Play Commission.
