Rees-Mogg applies to Slash trees at mansion over neighbours’ fears

FORMER Tory minister Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg says he must fell more than a dozen trees at his historic mansion amid safety fears.
The ex-North East Somerset MP is concerned some may topple and smash into neighbours' buildings and others are blocking the light.
An expert has told council planners five large conifers are "concerning" to those living next door.

Father-of-six Sir Jacob, 55, who lives at 400-year-old Grade II* listed Gournay Court, in West Harptree, Somerset, is seeking Bath and North East Somerset Council's permission to remove, trim or crown 25 garden trees.
