Premier footballer to learn if he will stand trial for rape

A TOP Premier League footballer faces the prospect of being tried for rape after police investigating complaints handed "a full file of evidence" to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The Metropolitan Police's decision to ask prosecutors to weigh up potential charges against the leading player is understood to have sent shockwaves through the star's club.
The international player was arrested at a property in North London in July 2022 after a woman in her 20s made a complaint to police.
