Police use extra time to quiz the accused
Daily Express
|May 30, 2025
MERSEYSIDE Police and the Crown Prosecution Service had until midnight last night to charge the suspect in the Liverpool trophy parade crash — or release him.
Paul Desmond Sanders Doyle, 53, is charged with seven serious criminal offences. He will be held in custody ahead of appearing at Liverpool Magistrates' Court just after 9am this morning and in the afternoon will be sent to crown court for a further hearing.
One of the charges he faces is dangerous driving, contrary to Section 2 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. But the other six are more complex. He is accused of two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, known as wounding with intent.
