Phillips: I faced 'deluge of hate' after Elon tweet

SAFEGUARDING Minister Jess Phillips said she faced a wave of hatred after Elon Musk branded her a "rape genocide apologist". The American billionaire's comments on his social media platform X followed Labour's decision to refuse a national inquiry into historical child sexual abuse in Oldham.

Ms Phillips said it was an "attempt" to bully her, adding: "On Friday, it was just a deluge of hate."

But she said the tide began to change as young women and constituents reached out to show their support.
