PC 'terrified' during airport arrest bid

A HARROWING video has captured a woman police officer's distress after she was allegedly punched in the face as she tried to arrest an assault suspect at Manchester airport.

PC Lydia Ward told a jury at Liverpool Crown Court she was “absolutely terrified” and had never experienced such violence towards her.

The clip shown to the court shows the distressed officer with blood pouring from her nose, which turned out to be broken, after she was allegedly hit during the fracas last year.

PC Ward and two colleagues approached Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, at a ticket machine at the Terminal 2 car park on July 23, having received a report that a male fitting his description had headbutted a man at Starbucks.
