Palin: NHS 'pretty awful' treatment of wife in last months

SIR Michael Palin has slammed the way his late wife was treated in hospital during the months before her 2023 death.

The Monty Python star lost his beloved Helen to kidney failure but said he was shocked by the level of care she received after she was admitted with pneumonia.

He explained: “She was in pain for about three years, chronic pain with her leg. And that was not nice to see. And she managed it all right, but then it got worse and worse and sleeping became more difficult.

“And she was diagnosed with kidney failure in the end, of which there’s nothing you can do about that apart from keep on having dialysis.
