EMI Badenoch has been at the heart of the battle to protect single-sex spaces, and everyone for whom women’s safety is a priority should be glad that she stands up for biological sex.

The Conservative leader has met with nurses who were “victims of a state-sponsored witch hunt” because, she says, they held firm on the “basic truth of biological sex”.

Mrs Badenoch could easily have shied away from an issue that leads to people being “cancelled” and targeted with the vilest abuse.
